Born and raised in South Africa, I’ve been fishing for several years out of a kayak. Meager beginnings finally gave way to buying my first Native Watercraft – a Mariner 12.5 Propel. Spend as much time as possible fishing NC, VA, and SC waters from lakes to rivers, and some coastal waters. My main target species is Largemouth Bass. Just recently upgraded to the Native Slayer Propel 13 in Copperhead. My next investment will be a Versa Board for fishing the flats and smaller, shallower rivers.

Matthew Frazier

I am from Kings Mountain, NC. I fish from the mountains to the coast of North Carolina for smallmouth, largemouth, and inshore saltwater species. I enjoy introducing others to the great and growing sport of kayak fishing.

Kyle Hoover

I have been kayak/canoe fishing for more than 10 years. I am a lifetime fisherman, growing up fishing the streams around, as well as within Lake Erie for trout, smallmouth, walleye and steelhead. My experience fishing the rivers of NC is vast and occasionally I will venture to lakes and the Coast, but my true love for fishing in NC is within rivers for smallmouth, trout and striped bass. I love using my Native Watercraft to gain access in remote areas for prime fishing. In addition to fishing I also enjoy viewing, as well as photographing, wildlife and the natural environment where I enjoy paddling and fishing.

Fishing is one of my passions in life and teaching kids and people and spreading the word of kayak fishing gives me a real enjoyment. I have been fishing for close to forty years and have been kayak fishing for about five yrs. I fish both salt and freshwater. I have fished kayak tournaments from NC to Florida, and kayak fish on a weekly basis. I have done many reviews on several websites. I have done demo kayak days and seminars at Bass Pro Shops and several other kayak dealers.

I am 39 years old and I have lived in Arden/Asheville area my entire life. I mainly fish fresh water, but do enter into a couple of tournaments on the NC and SC coast once or twice a year. I am the founder of www.kayakfishingwnc.com, one of the largest Kayak Fishing sites in NC and the only one in the Western part of the state. My site is a portal for helping newcomers find information, to help lead them in making the right decision for the right boat for them. We also are a gateway to the many products available to completely rig your Kayaks. We will be having some more Meet and Greets here soon, and hopefully will be able to have a few more Tournaments planned out for the reminder of the year and a schedule lined up for 2015!!! Keep up to date will all the local fishing hot spots on my Facebook page!!! www.facebook.com/kayakfishingwnc. If you have any questions about Native Products or just a good fishing spot, feel free to contact me. Kayak fishing is my passion, and I am privileged to stand behind such an awesome product. Native Watercraft!!!!

Hayden Wiles

I’m currently a senior at Graham High School where I run Track, Cross Country and Indoor Track. Even though I love sports and running, I enjoy being out on the water fishing in my spare time. I got my start with kayak fishing in 2008 while in Boy Scouts. I enjoy both saltwater and freshwater fishing with Fort Fisher, NC and Oak Island, NC as my favorite saltwater locations. My favorite freshwater lake is Bugg’s Island Lake in VA. Currently, I’m a member of the North Carolina Kayak Fishing Association and participate in most of their events each year which includes their 9 month On-Line Tournament as well as other tournaments such as the Mid-Night Madness Catfish Tournament, Oak Island Classic and the Spots and Specks Tournament. Upon graduation from high school this June, I hope to continue my education in college and possibly pursue a career as a Wildlife Officer where I can continue to enjoy being in the woods or on the water in a kayak enjoying the outdoors.

I have been fishing since I was five years old in the freshwaters of PA for smallies catfish and largemouth bass. I moved to NC in 2001 and have been gaining ground on the red drum and other saltwater fish. I love nothing more than getting people on fish and sharing my love for the waters I fish.

Nathan Raycroft

Nathan is an avid angler with an absolute passion for kayak fishing. Based in Swansboro, NC, he enjoys introducing people to kayak fishing through his guide service, Angler’s Nook Guided Kayak Fishing Tours. Be it in the backwaters of Morehead City and Beaufort, or on the open flats located around Wilmington, Nathan uses his years of fishing experience in an endeavor to introduce new kayak anglers to a bent rod and a tight line with a Red Drum (Redfish), Speckled Trout or Flounder.

Whether you’ve always dreamed of targeting fish from a kayak or if you’ve wondered what kayak fishing would be like, Nathan welcomes the opportunity to share his time and experience with you on the water. Though he can’t guarantee that a fish will be caught on every outing, he is convinced that you will enjoy your time paddling the Coastal waters, and offers that you may just find yourself ‘reeled in’ by the ever growing sport of kayak fishing!

Chris Tryon

I fell in love with Southeastern North Carolina while stationed at Camp LeJeune. After leaving the Marine Corps I rediscovered fly fishing. I am a Co-Owner of Hook Line and Paddle Kayaks SUP and Canoe. When I am not at my shop custom rigging fishing kayaks for customers I am guiding on the water. Kayak fishing allows me to slip into areas that are inaccessible to other boats and I am always adventuring into new areas. I treat areas in which I fish with respect by leaving no trace, and strictly following state laws.

If you are interested in trying kayak fishing, I am the guide that wants to get you out on the water, and into the fish!
