4th Annual North Carolina Kayak Fishing Meet ‘n Greet

June 19, 2010

Originally developed as a friendly kayak fishing competition in 2007 our annual Meet 'n Greet has evolved into one of the largest gatherings of kayak anglers in the Southeast. Approximately 50-60 folks as far away as Virginia, South Carolina, Texas and California have gathered at Ft. Fishers expansive marsh off of Federal Point North Carolina for a fun-filled day of fishing, camaraderie and a shore lunch. The event has proved to be a fantastic opportunity for online kayak fishing forum members from groups such as www.ncangler.com and www.nckfa.com to not only meet each other but also for newcomers to view a variety of different kayak models, experience inshore fishing for the first time, share rigging ideas and fishing techniques. This years group comprised of men, women, families, their children and six service men and women from local military bases involved in the www.heroesonthewater.org organization.

The event receives participatory support from Native Watercraft dealers www.shopgetoutoors.com (Greensboro, NC) and www.hooklineandpaddle.com(Wilmington, NC) which both host monthly meetings of the kayak fishing forum group www.nckfa.com. If your shop isn't involved in some way with an online forum or hosting your own in-store meetings you definitely should consider the possibilities this act of good will presents, such as increased traffic and sales. The two fore-mentioned dealers have directly benefitted from sales as the number of Native kayaks has increased three-fold since the events inception. a testimony to the quality, features and comfort of Native Watercraft kayaks.
