NATIVE WATERLOG
JULY 2007 -- EXPLORING THE MAGIC PART II

The original thought that inspired the Magic design was creating a sit on top kayak that would perform much better than existing models. It would have an open deck for easy access to gear; be easy to accessorize without having to be drilled full of holes; and have the most comfortable seat conceivable.

The Magic model kayak hits the mark, presently available a 12 foot solo model. A 14.5 tandem will be available soon that can be easily converted to a solo.

Features:
·Open Deck Forward: An open area in the bow of the Magic allows you to stow your gear in a dry bag and secure it with bungee cords that are positioned by the Plug and Play™ system. You have easy access to your bag and you can retrieve an item you need while seated comfortably. Most sit on top kayaks have a covered hatch in the forward deck. The disadvantages to this arrangement from a fishing standpoint is that it is hard to access your gear while you are in the kayak on the water because you have to move forward, remove the hatch cover and dig around to find the item that you need. This creates another problem: not only is it hard to find what you are looking for, but by leaning over to retrieve gear your weight lowers the free board in the bow. This increases the chances of a wave to break into the open hatch which may cause the hull to fill with water.

·Plug and Play™ System: The Plug and Play system allows you to install accessories on your kayak easily…then just as easily relocate them to suit different situations. You have the option to remove them to transport your kayak or if you do not need them while paddling. You can also accessorize your kayak for fishing without having to drill any holes. Holes can create leaks.

Soon to be introduced, the Magic 14.5 plug and play system converts
the tandem to a solo easily: remove one seat and reposition the other
by plugging it into a center location.

·First Class™ Seating: In my opinion, the seat in any kayak should be one of the most important features to consider. Unlike being in a bigger boat where you can get up, move around and stretch - you are married to that seat in a kayak. Your kayak seat can mean the difference between a miserable day or a great day on the water.

·Advantages of the Magic Seat:
We are proud of our First Class™ seat: it is extremely comfortable
and adjustable. The HiFlex® material is outstanding in several ways:
- It drains so you are not sitting in water, and when it does get wet it is
dries quickly.
- It ventilates so it does not get hot.
- It cushions, so it is comfortable.

A few other features of the First Class™ seat are that
1. It is adjustable for even more comfort.
2. Your heels are positioned below your hips to add comfort to your lower back, hips and the back of your legs.
3. Unlike most kayak seats, it is not black. It is a light color and does not absorb heat. The Solar Screen® fabric on the outside will withstand years of UV from sunlight.
4. The seat is removable for ease of transportation: you can plug it into different positions to make adjustments.
5. The seat can be used as camp chair or beach chair.

Finally, our seat like the kayak is constructed right in our factory in Greensboro N.C., USA.

Sit in one… or better yet, paddle a Magic, and make your decision.
